Mrs. Murrel McBeth (Shorty) Fulton Bedgood was born in Holly Hill, South Carolina August 14, 1923 to Mr. Appell Fulton and Lucille Washington Fulton.

She  was educated in the Public School System of Holly Hill South Carolina.

At and early age she baptized at Target Methodist Church, in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Upon moving to Savannah, she became a lifetime member of the Historic First Bryan Baptist Church where she joined under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Holsey. 

Her  Her parents, special aunt, Martha Washington Bradley, her sister Betty Whitney Williams and her brother Claude Ray Thomas preceded her in death, she was also preceded in death by her stepfather Will Thomas.

While visiting Savannah, she met the love of her life, Morgan P. Bedgood, Jr., (Pully), and were joined in Holy Matrimony on July 16, 1943. Their love story lasted 68 years until he entered into eternal rest in 2011. to this union six children were born. One daughter Murrel Bedgood-Anglin also preceded her in death. 

She retired as Supervisor of H housekeeping at Hill Haven, Convalescent Center. In her leisure time, she loved to travel, fish and crab with her husband. She also had a "green thumb", and love to plant and grow flowers and every year, she and her husband were know for their wonderful vegetable garden, especially their tomatoes. She was an excellent cook, and loved to cook for her family. She was a person who never met a stranger. She loved them and they loved her. She was known in her neighborhood as the "Neighborhood Mom".

On November 30, 2016 Mrs. Murrel Bedgood answered the divine Master's Call and entered the eternal realms of Glory at Pruitt Healthcare, surrounded by her loving family. 

Her legacy of love, precious and loving memory, three sons, Morgan P. Bedgood, III., Rene J. Bedgood, Sr., and Daune B. Bedgood Sr., (Melanie), two daughters Beverly B. Jackson (Jesse) and Keely B. Edwards (Henry) twenty-one-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren two great-great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Matthew Evans, her step Mother Etta Mae Murphy, a sister, Saralyn Ferguson, a special cousin Elizabeth Brown and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. 

Mrs. Murrel Bedgood entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Pruitt Healthcare, surrounded by her loving family.

Service of Remembrance and Celebration will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday  December 6, 2016 at Historic First Bryan Baptist Church 575 West Bryan Street Savannah Georgia. The Reverend Earl Calloway, Eulogist. Internment: Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
