Ronald George Bolden, affectionately known as "Blade," passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on November 14, 1952, in the Bronx, NY, Ronald moved to Savannah, Georgia. Where he was raised by his mother and father, Lawrence Stevens both who preceded him in death.
A proud alumnus of Thomkins High School in Savannah, Georgia. Ronald pursued higher education at Savannah State College (now University), earning a degree in Criminal Justice. Ronald was a lifelong member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He went on to serve with distinction as a Special Agent for the United States Navy, dedicating over 25 years to protecting his country in a real-life role akin to famed NCIS.
Ronald's life was enriched by his loving family. He found enduring love with his wife, Pasty Turner, with whom he shared a decade of marriage until his passing.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Patsy Bolden; his cherished children; Lakesha Goode (Aundre) of Lithonia, Ga, Dr. Sherontae Maxwell (Michael) of Conyers, Ga, Tai Cochran (John) of Douglasville, Ga, Askari Tolbert of Detroit, MI, James Deering (Tiera) of Douglasville, Ga., and Ja'Lisa Deering of Douglasville, Ga., Ronald leaves behind a legacy in his grandchildren; Aundre Goode Jr., Eva Anderson, Aaron Goode, Melia Cochran, James Deering IV, Nia Reed, Brooklyn Deering, Josiah Deering, Jacob Deering, and Jonah Deering; and one great grandchild, Tru Deering.
He is also survived by his brothers, Cornell Stevens (Gloria) of Stockbridge, Ga., and Lawrence "Buck" Stevens of Savannah, Ga., his sisters, Ericka "Neicy" Stevens and Stephanie "Step" Stevens, both of Savannah, Ga., a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ronald George Bolden will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his distinguished service to his country, and his vibrant spirit that earned him the nickname "Blade" his legacy of love, commitment, and service will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
Mr. Ronald George Bolden "Blade" peacefully transitioned on May 9th, 2024, in Detroit, MI.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday May 24th, 2024, at Zion Hope Baptist Church, 4867 Van Dyke, Detroit, MI. 48214.
