The Glorious Chronicle

Presiding Elder Ronnie Harden, Sr.

"And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord,

who hath enabled me, for that he

counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry".

1 Timothy 1: 12 (KJV)

Ronnie Harden, Sr., was a man of purpose, faith, family, and service to the people of the LORD. He exchanged time for eternity on Monday, November 27, 2023, in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, surrounded by his loving and devoted family, saints of GOD at his bedside, as he was ushered into the everlasting arms of JESUS.

Ronnie's life began in the year of our Lord and Savior, August 14, 1947, in Brooklet, Bulloch County, Georgia, as the breath of GOD blew upon Earth and Man became a living soul. GOD exhaled and HE gave life to the fifth of nine children born to Bishop Orbert Harden and Shepherd Mother Elease Rawls Harden, with the blessing in the form of a baby boy.

Ronnie was richly blessed to be the descendant of a family with rich heritage of love, grace and integrity, who paved the way for his journey. He learned from his parents at a youthful age the value of hard work, sacrifice, and determination.

Ronnie's vines of life were rooted and substructured in Chatham County, where he grew up and exemplified great promise early in life. He completed his education in the public schools of Chatham County with an ambition to excel and prepare for his life's expedition.

Ronnie became a Christian when quite a young man under the auspices of his parents, Bishop Orbert and Shepherd Mother Elease Rawls Harden. Aspiringly, he exhibited devout Christian character throughout the astonishing years he involved himself in religious service, and he was committed to the divine work of God's kingdom.

Ronnie, a loyal, humble, and devout servant of GOD, received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1980, under the leadership of his father, Bishop Orbert Harden in the Owens Temple First Christ Holiness Churches, Incorporated. He attended church regularly, served untiringly, and faithfully followed the leadership and guidance of his beloved sister, Apostle W. B. Jefferson, into a ministry of divine order and grace of the New Greater Owens Temple Ministries, Incorporated. His elaboration of religious service continued as a Minister, Elder and was concluded as Presiding Elder. In the evidence of his Apostolic Life, he finished the journey with his beloved sister serving as the Presiding Prelate and General Overseer.

Presiding Elder Harden known for his stellar Pentecostal Character, had an ambience of holiness for those entrusted to his stewardship, always empowered him to serve willingly. He touched the lives of many over this region with his wisdom, inquisitiveness, and wise knowledge as a man of GOD, standing tall among his peers.

Ronnie met the love of his life, Rose M. Glover, and they romanced for a short span. The two of them became one in holy matrimony on June 13, 1979, as they shared their lives together. To this union, Ronnie and Rose affectionately parented six sons, Paul Glover, Ronnie Harden, Jr., Ervin Mallette, Zacchaus Harden, Timothy Harden, Matthew Harden, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews. Ronnie was a faithful, loving-dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

Presiding Elder Harden was preceded in death by his parents, Bishop Orbert Harden and Shepherd Mother Elease R. Harden, siblings, Linda Marie Harden, Isaiah Harden, Edward Harden, Pervis Harden, son, Ronnie Harden, Jr.

Ronnie's illustrious and professional career began as he set out to reach for higher heights in providing service to his beloved community. He became the entrepreneur of A1 Taxi Service, serving Chatham County and neighboring counties for numerous years. Connectionally, he had been employed with B & D as a Mechanic Equipment Operator, and also Domtar Gypson, as a professional maintenance operator. A determined giant to succeed, he was elected to serve his peers as the president of the Union. Always a man of great valor, he also served as job steward for numerous years.

In retrospect to mankind, Presiding Elder Harden served his country with distinct honor in the United States Marine Corp with the title of Lance Corporal, being the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal and Honorable Discharge on February 6, 1970. In God's sovereignty, in the span of a lifetime, HE permits men of grandeur to positively impact others. Harden being one of those men, committed and dedicated himself to his family, church, and community.

Eternally, after a stellar career with the New Greater Owens Temple Ministries, Incorporated, Presiding Elder Ronnie Harden, Sr., will forever and eternally reign with Almighty God on the Celestial Streets, Heaven Boulevard.

The gentle but dynamic man leaves a rich legacy of abiding faith, charity, love for family, church, and community, to mourn his passing, his affectionate wife of forty-four years, Mother Rose M.
