Ms. Lavinia"Peanut" Mattox was born January 30, 1962 to the late Mrs. Eliza Blake Brown and the late Mr. Amos Mattox.
Lavinia was educated in the public schools of Savannah Chatham county and was a member of St. John Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. George P. Lee, III.
On December 27, 2021, Lavinia took flight home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her father, Amos Mattox; mother, Eliza Blake; brother, Dan Brown, Jr.; sisters, Brenda Brown Turner, Olivia Brown and her paternal grandmother, Grace Mattox Thomas.
She to cherish her memories, brothers, Floyd Mattox and Randolph L. Brown; sister, Evelyn Brown Whiting; paternal aunt, Mrs. Carrie Mattox Devillers who she loved and called everyday when she was able to call. Very caring longtime friends and caretaker, Mrs. Cathy and Carl Luper who loved Lavinia as their daughter. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and other caring family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday December 30, 2021 at Bryan Neck Baptist church cemetery. Public viewing Wednesday December 29, 2021 from 3-6:00pm at the Chapel of Bynes-Royall. Masks and Social Distancing are required. Live streaming on our Bynes-Royall, Inc. Facebook Page.
