Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.

The Brown Family officially announce the obsequies

for Mrs. Jeanette Brown

Mrs. Jeanette Brown answered God's call to come when He whispered in her ear at 5:30 am Friday morning March 12, 2021 at Hospice of Savannah.

Jeanette E. Brown was born July 15, 1936 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Abraham and Mary Bennett. She was educated in the public schools of Savannah-Chatham County.

She was a lifelong member of First Mount Bethel Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a member of Usher Board #2. Jeanette also served on the Missionary Board and was a New Members class Teacher. She was a member of the Baptist Training Union and a member of the Deacon's wife's association. She was ordained as Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Leroy Kirkland. She was a faithful attendee of Bible Study and Sunday School. Affectionately called Mother Brown at First Mount Bethel, she served as one of the Mothers of the church until her illness prevented it.

Her Favorite hymn is Amazing Grace and her favorite scripture is Psalm 119:109, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path".

Jeanette was united in Holy Matrimony to Deacon Peter J. Brown (who preceded her in death).

She was employed by Dr. Leon and Mrs. Barbara Aronson for a number of years and later becoming the Owner/Operator of Brown's Day Care.

Jeanette had an appreciation for education and at Brown's Day Care, she taught the fundamentals of reading, spelling and math to her preschoolers. Her grandchildren were privileged to attend as well where they received their academic foundation. As a result, she got to attend their High School graduations and College graduations. Granny, as she was lovingly called, witnessed the conferring of certificates and diplomas and seeing her grandchildren as entrepreneurs, engineers, a Pastor, lawyer and successful working professionals.

Jeanette leaves four sons and two daughters to cherish loving memories of her. Son: Frederick (Sharon) Wright, Deacon Aaron (Diana) Wright, Deacon Anthony (Henrietta) Wright, Donnell Diggs all of Savannah; Daughters: Pastor Marsha (Pastor Rubin) Pusha, Shelia (Chester) Doyle, Julia Grant (spiritual daughter), all of Savannah; Memories of her will also be treasured by her two brothers: Leroy Bennett of Savannah,  and Jerry Albright of Newark, NJ; Two sisters: Retha Reynolds of Savannah and Joann Williams of Newark, NJ: One Uncle, Aspy Wright of Phoenix, AZ and a host of grandchildren, great and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; and her close friend for over seventy years, Rose Campbell.
