Girther Fanquita Moore Grant departed this earthly life May 2, 2022 at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. Girther was the last child born to the late. Rev. Levi Moore & Hattie Pearl Epps Moore in Savannah, Georgia on August 24, 1955.
She attended the public schools in Savannah, Chatham County where she a was 1973 graduate of A. E. Beach High school and furthered her education at Tuskeegee Institute where she obtained her BA in Education. She retired from the Atlanta school system and was subsequently rehired and teaching children who were challenged and loved every minute of her work.
Girther was a child of God and became a member of Butler Memorial Presbyterian Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. P. A. Patterson. She continued to serve and love the Lord at West Hunter Baptist Church.
She was married to Dr. Kenneth Grant, Sr. for forty nine (49) years to whom she leaves to cherish her loving memory. She also leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Kenneth, Jr. and Kristen Grant and several grandchildren whom she adored; two sisters, Eudora (Herman) Allen, Savannah, Hattie (Lorenzo deceased) Worrill, Atlanta; two brothers, Levi (Abverna) Moore, Savannah, Charles(Pam) Moore, Atlanta; sister-in-law, Henrietta (John deceased) Moore, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday May 6th, 2022 at West, Hunter St. Baptist church, 1040 Ralph Abernathy St. Atlanta, GA 30310. Viewing Thursday 4-8:00 pm at Willie Watkins Funeral Home , 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd., Atlanta, GA.
