Mr. William A. Bryant, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2022 at his home. Bryant is a native of Savannah and loved his community. Bryant was a veteran and served a tour in France after being drafted soon after marriage. The love of his life, Odessa White, joined him in a marriage that spanned over 70 years. Together, they raised two sons and developed strong bonds with family members. Bryant was a veteran and served a tour in France after being drafted soon after marriage. Their infectious charisma led to an extended family and many close friends. Mr. Bryant was a faithful member at St. Benedict the Moor Church, serving many years as a communion minister.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Mrs. Odessa W. Bryant, two sons: Mr. William A. Bryant, Jr. and Dr. Robert G. Bryant, four grandsons: Mr. D'Vonte (Nyresha) McGhee, Mr. MarQuez McGhee, Mr. Eric Curry, Mr. Jermaine Curry, great grandson : D'Vonte McGhee. Jr. four nieces: Mrs. Shelia (Larry) Jones, Mrs. Darnet (Carl) Porter, Mrs. Michelle (Adrian) Bryant-Gardner, and Demetria Harris, four great nephews: Mr. JaKeem Bryant, Mr. Ty'Kwan Bryant, Mr. Ty'Kwel Bryant, and Demetric Harris. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law: Mrs. Anne Marks, and two brothers-in-law: Mr. Sammie (Florence) White, and Mr. Willie (Anita) White, in addition to a host of other family and close friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday November 5th, 2022 at St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church, 441 E. Broad St., Savannah, GA 31401. Internment Catholic Cemetery 1720 Wheaton St. Public viewing 3-6:00 pm Friday November 4th, 2022 at the Chapel of Bynes-Royall. Alpha Phi Omega Service 7:05 pm Friday at The Chapel of Bynes-Royall.
