Robert Earl Gadson was born April 2, 1935 to the late Ben Gadson and Rosa Lee Lowery in Savannah, Georgia. He was educated in private schools of Chatham County. Mr. Gadson was a United States Army Veteran. In 1960, he married Elnora Watson. He was a faithful member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board since 1986.
Robert worked for the International Longshoreman Association 1414 for 35 retiring May 1995. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved his family more than anything and he gifted them with uncompromising wisdom fitting the nickname Swami (meaning wisdom). This is a gift that will be forever cherished. His son, Robert Earl Gadson, Jr. preceded him in death.
On Monday January 3, 2022, God whispered in Robert Earl Gadson's ear to come home and get his rest. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his devoted wife, Elnora Gadson; daughters Earline Jackson (David Jackson) and Henrietta Jackson; brother James Johnson; sister, Christine Steele (Dea. Martin Steele,Sr.); six grandchildren Jeron Jackson, Shaun Jackson (Nikki Jackson), Consuella Jackson, David Jackson, Collin Jackson and Shameka Smalls; five great grandchildren, Bryson Jackson (Boss)and Cameron Jackson, Sha'Davia Jackson, Sha'Dajia Jackson and Kanece Ellison and a devoted Goddaughter Verna Washington and a host of dedicated nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Memorial service for will be held 11:00 am Saturday January 15, 2022 in the Chapel of Bynes-Royall Funeral Home, 204 West Hall Street, Savannah, Georgia.
