Percell "Percy"Roberts, Jr. was born December 13, 1946 in Sylvania, GA to Percell and Freddie Marie Roberts. He was educated by Screven County school system and graduated from Central High School in 1967. After spending his early years in Sylvania, Percell's family moved to Savannah in 1967. Percell later furthered his education and graduated from Vocational-Technical School in 1973 with a certificate in Auto Body and Collision Repair. It was then that he met his wife Jennifer Fireall. Percell and Jennifer wed in 1980. They welcomed their son Percell Leonard Roberts October 20, 1986.
Percell committed 22 years in the U.S. Military where he served as Staff Sergeant at Hunter Army Military Base. Percell was also a cook in the Military. Percell had several hobbies and interest throughout his life including: comics, music, baseball and sports cars.
Percell interest in cars also led to his employment as an Auto Body Mechanic for many years at Tire City. Percell was well known in Savannah for his prestige and body services. Percell continued his profession until his health led to his health led him to retirement, however, that didn't stop him. He continued to grace the community with his passion of cooking by preparing meals at St. Paul Church and Trick's BBQ.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Freddie Roberts and brothers, Roger and Earnest Roberts.
Percell is survived by his wife, Jennifer Roberts of Savannah, GA; two sons, Percell Roberts of Savannah, GA and Christopher Riddick of Hempstead, NY; five grandchildren, Talaiceia Roberts, Suriah Grant, George Williams, Nakira Wade-Riddick and Christian Isreal-Riddick; seven siblings, Charlesetta Howard, Leona Roberts, Johnny Roberts, Sam Roberts, Watty Roberts, Freddie Roberts and Laverne Roberts; adopted brothers, Gary Johnson and Anthony Mooney. A host of very special nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday October 8th 2022 at the Chapel of Bynes-Royall, 204 West Hall St., Savannah, GA, 31401
