Marshall Cluese Smith was born June 2, 1958 in Augusta, GA. to the late Juanita Frasier and Samuel L. Smith. He was raised in Louisville, GA by his beloved grandmother, Annie Lee Smith, who preceded him in death. Marshall was baptized at an early age at St. Paul Baptist Church in Louisville where he and his grandmother were active members of the church family.
Marshall completed his early education in Jefferson County, later graduating from Westside High School in Augusta, GA. Following his graduation, Marshall joined the US Army and served his country from 1976 to 1979 before moving to Oakland, CA and then Savannah, GA.
In Savannah, Marshall met and married Barbara Regina Hardwick, his wife of 30 years and together they raised three children: Brianna, Marshae' and Joseff Smith. He continued his education at Savannah Technical College where he studied civil engineering before later becoming a Truck Driver. Marshall was an integral part of the Cuyler-Brownsville Community where he was loved and admired by the entire neighborhood.
On May 12, 2022, God called Marshall home to rest. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Regina H. Smith; two daughters, Brianna and Marshae' Smith, son Joseff Smith; Two sisters, Pauli (Al) Smith Mullice and Anne S. (Randy) Harris-Gunte: nephews, Chad (Latonya) Smith and Anton (Tara) Harris. His beloved cousin, Catherine Brown Butler; dear friend, Charlie Brown, Sr. and a host of other family and friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May17th 2022 at the Chapel of Bynes-Royall Funeral Home, 204 West Hall St., Savannah, GA 31401. Public viewing Monday May, 16th, 2022 from 3-6:00 pm at the Chapel of Bynes-Royall.
