John Michael Minter known as “Mike” son of the late John Milton Minter and Joann M. Houser. Was born in Orangeburg, SC September 25th, 1970. He departed his earthly life on Wednesday April 5th, 2023, in Savannah, GA at 6:33pm at St. Joseph hospital with his niece Quan by his side. Mike was educated in the Orangeburg, SC public schools. Mike worked as an Industrial Technician and Landscaper throughout his life.
Mike was preceded in death by his Father John Milton Minter, Grandmother Ruby Lee Campbell and special friend and companion Sandra Lee Hickson.
Mike’s life and legacy will remain cherished by his loving and devoted Mother Joann M. Houser and Uncle Leroy Campbell Jr of the home. Two additional Uncles Rev. Henry Smith and Rev. Samuel Fredrick of Orangeburg, SC. Mike helped raise two beautiful honorary children: Breanna and Marqual Snell, and Five honorary Grandchildren Aydenn Snell, Lauren Johnson, Royalty Felder, Ma’Lani Easterling, and Demarra Snell. Three loving Sisters who he was extremely close with Sharon “Noodle” Jackson of Orangeburg, SC, Anna” Kat” Riley of Savannah, GA and Doris Elaine Minter of Savannah, GA. God Brother Nathan “Man” Grant. Mike adored, loved and helped raised his Nieces and Nephews more like his own Children Sean Riley, Kina Riley , La’Quan” Moby” Blount-Dinkins , Kieven Minter, Shannon Riley Shaw, Kendall Minter, Brandon Riley, Keondra Harris, Kendra Minter Jones and Kedrick Walker and 27 Great Nieces and Nephews. Special friends Barbara Hubbard and Ms. Mary.
Mr. John Michael Minter transitioned Wednesday evening April 5th, 2023 at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital with his love ones by his side.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday April 13th, 2023 at the Chapel of Bynes-Royall. Public viewing 3-6:00 pm Wednesday April 12th at the Chapel.
