Maurice Marquis Obituary

The Marquis Family officially announces,

The Obsequies for

Mr. Maurice Timothy Marquis

With tremendous sorrow, we bow to the will of our Heavenly Father as we humbly announced the unforeseen, yet triumphant journey of our beloved,

Mr. Maurice Timothy Marquis

In the timeless echoes of eternity, amidst the whispers of the celestial realm, the immortal words of Jesus resound; “Jesus said unto him, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead’ yet shall he live: and whosoever livery and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this.

On September 18, 2024, the angel of silence came, and the celestial clock chimed at the precise hour, the mortal shall transcend the boundaries of morality, embracing the realm of the immortal.

Maurice Timohty Marquis legacy is etched in the tapestry of our hearts, May the grace of God, which glowed abundantly through Mr. Maurice Timothy Marquis, be a balm to our spirits in this time of mourning.

Let us honor his memory with grace and gratitude, knowing that his spirit dwells eternally in the embrace of God, our Father.

TIL THE TRUMPET SOUNDS,

We, the Bynes-Royall Funeral Home family and staff along with the Marquis family request your prayers at this time.

His beloved family would like to thank everyone for the various acts of kindness extended to them.

At this time, the family is respectfully asking for your kind understanding as they make important decisions and immediate plans in the coming days.

Maurice Timothy Marquis January 31, 1932-September 18, 2024, was born in New York Hospital in New York, New York, and raised in the Bronx, New York, to Carl William Marquis Sr. and his wife Olive Meiers Marquis, passed away at the age of 92 in Georgia.

The eldest of four children, Rudolph “Buddy” Marquis. Rosetta Marquis Welborn and Carl W. Marquis Jr., Maurice was born special in many ways. Some ways that were challenging and required him to have assistance through life. While he did not formally finish an education, Maurice had the ability to remember movie titles, musical scores, actors and singers of both popular and the often-obscure songs. It was his superpower.

Maurice was a loving son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend to many. His childlike demeanor endeared him to all that met him.

His mesmerizing hazel eyes would sparkle with each smile well into his golden years. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Olive, brothers Rudolph and Carl Jr. and is survived by his loving and devoted sister/caregiver Rosetta Marquis Welborn.

He will be missed by his family and friends, especially his nieces/caregivers Maria Welborn Manderson, Anita Welborn Simmons and Mandisa Manderson.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude for your show of support during this time. In lieu of donations or flowers, the family would appreciate your support/volunteerism to the mental health disability organization of your choice.

Graveside Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday October 8. 2024
