Alice Harvey Obituary

The Harvey Family officially announce the Obsequies

for

Mrs. Alice Harvey

With tremendous sorrow, we submit our saddened hearts to the will of our Father as we humbly

announce the unforeseen, yet Triumphant Journey of our beloved, Mrs. Alice Harvey

who gently closed her eyes and return to God's garden of peace. For we do not weep as those

who have no hope but rejoice that she has now received her reward on Monday, January 22, 2024.

.

We the Bynes-Royall Funeral Home Family and Staff along the Harvey Family request your prayers at this time.

In shadows deep, where silence lies,
A journey ends, beneath starlit skies.
The curtain falls, the stage grows still,
As life surrenders to time's swift will.

Through the veil, beyond the unknown,
A soul departs, its essence flown.
In quiet repose, no more to roam,
A final breath, a journey home.

Yet in the echoes of the silent night,
Memories bloom, a soft, flickering light.
A chapter closed, a story told,
In the tapestry of time, a thread unfolds.

So let us weep, let sorrow flow,
For the one who left, and now must go.
In the realm unseen, they find their rest,
A peaceful slumber, forever blessed.

Celebrating the Life of Alice Jean Harvey

Alice Jean Harvey was born in Camilla Georgia (Mitchell County) on March 15, 1955, to Alice King Jackson and DK Grissom. She departed this life on January 22, 2024. Alice was educated in the Mitchell County Public School System. She graduated from Mitchell County High School (Camilla, Georgia) in 1972. She continued her education at Savannah State College (Savannah, Georgia) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work in 1976. Alice later earned her Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University in 2002.

After graduating from college, she began her married life in Holy Matrimony with the late Larry Marlin. From this union, one son was born (Quentin Marlin). Alice was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and love. She left endless unfading memories on the hearts of all who knew her. Alice led a life filled with compassion and generosity. Her infectious laugh and zest for life impacted family, friends and even strangers.

Alice confessed Christ to be her Lord and Savior at a very young age. With Christ being the center of her life, she served in the Kingdom of God happily and diligently. Her first baptism and church membership were at Union Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia. Later she became a member of Liberty City Church of Christ in Savannah, Georgia.

Alice had a passion for life that was evident in everything she did. She worked and retired from Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency as a Rehabilitation Counselor in Savannah, Georgia. She was a dedicated member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She loved her pink and green. She embraced family and friends by opening her home to many, traveling with friends and family, assisting people in need, and babysitting her twin grandchildren.

If you knew Alice, you know she believed in living life to its fullest capacity. Her ability to find joy in everything she did was reflective in her pursuit of hobbies she had such as quilting, knitting, listening to music of all genres, dancing, hula hooping, reading the bible and daily devotions, listening and talking to family and friends, and of course traveling.

Alice is survived by her only beloved child, Quentin Marlin (Katie), twin grandchildren (Quentin Blue and Rose Ryan), Three Brothers, Joe Nathan Grissom (Yolanda) Baltimore Maryland, Nathaniel Grissom of Atlanta Georgia, Tony Jackson (Tonya) Atlanta, Georgia and two sisters, Arridean Jackson (Willie) Quitman Georgia, Myrtice Robinson (George) Orlando, Florida, and host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents (Alice Jackson and DK Grissom), stepfather (Willie Fred Jackson, Sr), sister (Carolyn Powers), and brother (Willie Fred Jackson, Jr.)

As we mourn the loss of Alice, let us also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Her love, compassion, and the countless memories shared will forever be etched in our hearts. May she find eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to inspire us to live with the same love and kindness that defined her remarkable life.
