Mr. Thomas Dickerson, Sr. answered God's call to come home on Sunday June 13, 2021.

Mr. Thomas Dickerson, Sr. was born to Primus and Emily Dickerson on January 4, 1934 in Savannah, Georgia. He attended Alfred E. Beach High School and later continued his education at Savannah State College.

Mr. Dickerson later joined the 165th Air National and was a proud member of security forces squadron. Thomas Dickerson, Sr. served in the military for over 20 years. He also served and deployed to several locations overseas.

While Mr. Dickerson pursued his career, he came across the most beautiful precious gift from God, his future wife Mrs. Barbara S. Dickerson. The Dickerson's officiated their union on June 6, 1957. A year after they were married they began to have children and raise a family.

Mr. Dickerson lead his family through Christ and was a member of King Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr.  Dickerson was known for his powerful and inspirational war stories, his humor and an amazing smile.

Thomas Dickerson, Sr. is survived by his wife, Barbara S. Dickerson;  brothers, Nathaniel Dickerson (Debra), Samuel Dickerson (Dawn); daughter, Stephanie Haggary, grandchildren, Litease Haggary, Wesley Haggary, Daton Haggary, Shariah Haggary {deceased); daughter, Pamela Dickerson-Reddick; grandchildren, Shanitra Reddick, Rashad Reddick and Anterrio Reddick; daughter, Michelle Scott: grandchildren Everette Scott (deceased), Jordan Scott, Monica Scott; son Thomas Dickerson, II (Casondra); grandchildren, Akeem Dickerson, Austin Dickerson, daughter, Tracy Dickerson; grandchildren, Donell Gross, Ronell Gross, Elisia Baker, Trayvonne Baker, Sade Baker and Verity Baker; daughter, Shawn Simmons (Willie); grandchildren, TaShawna Simmons and Ashawnti Simmons; and 15 great grand children.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Monday June 21st, 2021 at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery/ Hunter/Army Airfield. Public viewing Sunday June 21st, 2021 from 3-6:00 pm at The Chapel of the Historic Bynes-Royall Funeral Home. Masks and Social distancing are required.
