Rickey Harris was called to rest on Monday, April 18 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital, age 63. He was born in Savannah, GA on March 2, 1953 to McKinley Myers and Sadie Harris.

He is a high school graduate of Savannah High School where he played basketball and was well known. He was named MVP 3 years in a row. He later continued his education at Missouri State University under a scholarship.

He later married his child hood sweet heart, Sheryl Byrd-Harris of forty-two years. From their union they had five children together.

He leaves to cherish is precious legacy, his wife: Sheryl; sons: Ronald Ochoa and Richard Byrd-Harris; daughters: Taisha Harris, Sherycka Byrd, Mychena Byrd, Amandeus Byrd, and Angel Byrd. Eleven grandchildren; sisters: Lillian Cunningham of Florida, Jacquelyn Chisholm and Donna Harris of Savannah, GA; brother: Keith Harris of Savannah, GA; Mother-in-law: Carolyn Mars; sisters-in-law: Barbra Byrd of Savannah, Patricia Byrd-Green (William) of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law Lester Byrd (Diane); and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
