In the timeless echoes of eternity, amidst the whispers of the celestial realms, the immortal words of Jesus resound: "Jesus said unto him, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this!"

It is with solemn reverence and profound humility, that we announce the earthly passage of a luminary, Mr. Atticus A. "Jap" Moore, Sr., his eternal existence now transcends the confines of earthly realms.

Educated in the public schools of Chatham County, and proudly he became a 1971 graduate of Richard Arnold High School.

His professional career began as a Crain Operator for International Longshoreman Local 1414, in addition he was employed with M & M Supermarket, Neal Bluntt Company. A man of many gifts and talents, he became a self-taught Carpenter and Tile Professional, along with being a Master Barber.

He was a man of deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The summons of  well done thy good and faithful servant occurred on Friday, June 14, 2024, Anno Domini, in the year of our Lord and Savior. As the celestial clock chimed, at the precise hour of 6:28 PM, the mortal shall transcend the boundaries of morality, embracing the realm of the immortal.

In this solemn hour, our hearts unite in fervent prayer for the Coney/Moore Family, his beloved wife of fifty years, Mrs. Lavonia "Von" Coney Moore, his beloved sons, Atticus A. (Letitia "Beefy") Moore, Jr., Derrick J. Moore, Sr., Tremaine M. Moore, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren,  our beloved village of  siblings, Barbara Smith, Edger Moore, Delphine McDonald, Alice Gordon, and Lilly Jones,  sisters-in-love/law, Annie Bell Coney (Raymond) Joiner, Dora "Sister" Coney, Mildred Coney Hart, Deborah Coney,  Debra Moore, brothers-in-love/law, Antonio Coney, Dennis James Coney, and Sidney Coney, a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. May the grace of God, which glowed abundantly through Mr. Atticus A. "Jap" Moore, Sr., be a balm to our spirits in this time of mourning.

Until then, let us honor his memory with grace and gratitude, knowing that his spirit dwells eternally in the embrace of God, our Father.

Family will receive visitors on Wednesday 5:00 P.M. ~ 9:00 P.M. at the home of Atticus Moore Jr., followed on Thursday thru Friday at the home of Lavonia Moore from 6:30 P.M. ~ 9:00 P.M.
