Ashley Sapphire Boggs was born on January 2, 1989, in Savannah, Georgia to Donna Marie Boggs and Stefan McLeod. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Franklin L. Boggs, Sr.
Ashley was educated in the Savannah Chatham County Public School System and was a 2007 Honor Graduate of Alfred Ely Beach High School. While at Beach High School, she served as Drum Major of the Mighty Marching Bulldogs, Vice President of the Science, Engineering, Communications and Mathematics Enrichment (SECME) Program, and Secretary of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).
Ashley continued her post - secondary education at Albany State University. During her matriculation at Albany State, she was a member of the Albany State Marching Rams as well as an active member of the Zeta Kappa Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma Sorority. In 2014, she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology. She was currently enrolled at Albany State University as a graduate student seeking her Masters in School Counseling. At the time of her death she was only one semester from graduation.
She was loved and admired for her sweet spirit, warm smile, and generous heart. She could often be found providing food, clothing and other necessities to those in need. Ashley's motto was to "Do good not because you are seeking a greater reward, but because it is the right thing to do."
Ashley entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 3, 2017.
She leaves to cherished memories of love and laughter in the heart and mind of her mother, Donna Marie Boggs; father, Stefan McLeod; brothers, Hezekiah E. Boggs, Delexius M. Boggs, and Rogers E. Bryant; sister Lauren Minor; maternal grandmother, Mary L. Boggs; uncle Franklin L. Boggs; aunts, Bernadette L. Boggs and Cynthia D. Boggs; nephew, Gabriel Minor; niece, Alexus Walker; her baby (pet dog), Jazz and a host of cousins and friends
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 12, 2017 at Miller's Temple First Born Church, 2306 Hopkins street, Savannah, Georgia. Rev. R.F. Cohen, Pastor/Eulogist. Interment Woodville Cemetery.
