Mrs. Eloise Mobley Phoenix was born on November 11, 1929 in Savannah, Georgia and died on her birthday, November 11, 2017 at Candler Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Her parents were Willie Marion Mobley and Hattie Reed Mobley.  Eloise attended catholic school and the Chatham County public schools.  She married James Phoenix of Savannah Georgia and was a homemaker.  Later in life, she attended the International Correspondence School where she obtained a degree in Master Art specializing in Folk Art. Mrs. Eloise Phoenix enjoyed decorating, drawing, painting and entertaining guest in her home.  She was an avid folklore storyteller.  She considered herself a comedian because she loved to make people laugh.  She enjoyed life in general. Mrs. Eloise Phoenix was a member of Union Branch Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. 

Those who preceded her in death included her parents: Willie Marion Mobley and Hattie Reed Mobley, her husband, James Phoenix, 2 sisters: Willie Mae Kelly and Verdell Edwards, 4 brothers: Alfred Mobley, Freddie Mobley, Roosevelt Mobley, and David Mobley. She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Mrs. Edith Owens, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m.  Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Union Branch Baptist Church 103 Clinch Street Savannah, GA 31405. Rev. Lori Blige Eulogist. Public viewing will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. at Bynes-Royall Funeral home located 204 West Hall Street Savannah,Ga 31401. Body will lie instate at church at 11:00 a.m. at Union Branch Baptist Church 103 Clinch Street Savannah,Ga 31405.
