Mrs. Sadie L. Miller

"Raine" was born May 6, 1940 in Savannah, Georgia to the Joseph Calvin Harris and Lillie Mae Jefferson Harris. She was a 1958 graduate of Alfred E. Beach High school where she was smart, very good with numbers and words and also a quick thinker! Raine worked at the Star, Dunbar and East Broad Street Theaters. She was employed for many years as a cashier for Food Fair, M&M, David's and Kroger Grocery Stores. She also worked in housekeeping on Hunter Army Air Field as well as the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Savannah until she retired to care for her Mother. Encourage by her friend, Sarah Fudge, Sadie became one of the Administrative Assistants at Grace Ashtin Christian School for Girls, and a Teacher"s Aide for Sarah. Owner Kim Albright shared how she was so much more to those around her. She was viewed as the "Mother" of the school. After leaving Grace Ashtin, she remained in touch with the students and staff, remembering their birthdays, making sure to check them off in her little black book once she confirmed they received the cards she sent them. She had been a member of Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Conner's Temple Baptist Church, St. Paul C.M.E., Abyssinia Baptist Church; she was a frequent visitor to Second Arnold Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed to worship and fellowship with others. Sadie was married to Henry L. Williams, as well as, Joseph "Money" Miller. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children: Beverly (Robert) McGriff of Tampa, Florida, Debra (Ronald) Gray of Fairburn, Georgia, Pastor Marc (Pamela) Williams, Sr. and Renee L. Williams all of Savannah, Georgia; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph C. (Jessie) Harris, Jr. of Englewood, New Jersey; Uncle Fred Jefferson; Aunt Gloria (Willie) Smith; devoted cousin, Veronica Manigo; dear friend, Joan Brown; devoted neighbor, Devin and a loving circle of  family, friends and so many more. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday June 29, 2019 at Second Arnold Baptist church,  Dr. Richard L. Hall, Sr. Pastor//Pastor Marc L. Williams, Sr. Eulogist. Interment Greenwich Cemetery. Instate 9 am . Public viewing Friday June 28, 10am- 6pm at the Chapel of Bynes-Royall.     Professional services entrusted to Bynes-Royall Funeral Home.
