Mr. Walter Samuels  Jr. ,81 entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Hospice of Savannah surrounded by his loving and devoted family. 

Mr. Walter Samuels, Jr. was born and raised in Effingham County, Georgia. He attended Marlow Elementary School and later Graduated from Effingham County Training School.  Mr. Samuels was a member of the first graduating class receiving a High School Diploma from Effingham County Training School. Upon completion of high school, Mr. Samuels attended Savannah State University (formerly Savannah State College). He later matriculated at John A. Gupton Collge In Nashville, Tennessee, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science. Following graduation, Mr. Samuels returned to his home town and established Walter Samuels Funeral Home. Walter Samuels Funeral Home became a pillar in the Rincon community. Samuels and his establishment served Effingham and neighboring communities for many years until his health declined. 

Mr. Samuels was serving as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, past President of the Sunday School until his death. Also former member of the Board of Trustees at Mount Moriah Baptist Church In Guyton, Georgia. He is also a lifetime member of smooth Ashlie Grand Lodge Mason, Guyton, Georgia, where he served in many capacities. 

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church located at 1435 Georgia Highway 119 Springfield, Georgia. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Marlow Baptist Church located at 142 Church Hill Road Guyton, Ga. Public viewing will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at Bynes-Royall Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m. Mr. Samuels will lie instate at First Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service professional service entrusted to Bynes-Royall Funeral Home, Inc.
