JoAnn Scales Bedgood was born on August 7, 1954 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Quintella Polk Scales and Frank Scales.  Her parents preceded her in death.  JoAnn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Ladd, Ar.  She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1972 and later joined the United States Air Force where she met the love of her life, Morgan.  For several years she was employed by the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.  She was later employed by Aetna, which later changed to Cahaba, for more than twenty years.
 
JoAnn loved her family and cherished her children.  She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles and Sci-Fi movies.  She also loved to cook, especially for her family and friends.  She was loved by many.
 
On July 23, 1973, JoAnn and Morgan were united in Holy Matrimony.  This union was blessed with three beautiful children. Later, she continued her Christianity and joined the First Bryan Missionary Church under the leadership of Pastor Edward L. Ellis.
 
JoAnn was called home to glory from her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Ray Mallett.
 
JoAnn leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Morgan P. Bedgood, III; her children, Tiana Bedgood, Maurice P. Bedgood, and Morgan Rae Bedgood all of Savannah, GA; three grandchildren, Quinton Bedgood, Jaida Bedgood, and Cameron Gilliam, all of Savannah, GA; a sister, Tina Brown of Richmond, VA; a special cousin, Ida Polk of Pine Bluff, AR; one nephew, Ricardo Mallett of San Diego, CA; a loving mother-in-law, Murrel Bedgood; two sisters-in-love, Beverly Bedgood Jackson (Jesse) of Savannah, GA and Keely Bedgood Edwards (Henry) of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers-in-love, Rene’ Bedgood, Sr of Atlanta, GA and Duane Bedgood, Sr. (Melanie) of Charleston, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
